LUKOIL to Produce Diesel Fuel Depending on Location
OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2007. OAO LUKOIL Press Service issues the following statement: due to the onset of winter, the Company’s refineries in Russia are being gradually converted to producing winter types of EN 590 diesel fuel depending on their location across various climatic zones.
High performance of this fuel is guaranteed at as low as -26Со.
Both winter and summer types of diesel fuel produced at LUKOIL’s refineries in Russia are fully compliant with Euro-4 standard.
Sulfur content in LUKOIL Euro-4 diesel fuel does not exceed 0.005%, which is 40 times less than required by the national standard GOST 305-82. It also has a higher cetane index, with no less than 51 points (GOST 305-82 requirement is at least 45 points), which ensures high fuel ignition performance and easy engine startup. The content of aromatic polycyclic hydrocarbons in the fuel is 4-6% wt (while the standard prescribes 11% wt at most, with GOST 305-82 having no restrictions in this regard). The density of LUKOIL’s winter and summer diesel fuel ranges between 820 and 845 kg/cu m, which is the best option to minimize fuel consumption and ensure best engine efficiency.
