OREANDA-NEWS.  January 30, 2008.Belarus will lease concession for exploiting the Dobrushskoye chalk deposit to Russian company Itera, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Minister Leontiy Khoruzhik told a session of the ministry’s board on January 30.

In his words, the concession contract has been prepared. In the future Itera plans to use the deposit to build a new cement mill, which will satisfy the domestic demand for cement and will boost cement exports. According to provisional estimates, ?500-700 million will be channelled into implementing the project.

Besides, this year Triple company will be awarded concession for exploiting Khotislavskoye chalk deposit. The Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Ministry and Triple’s leadership are in negotiations discussing cooperation terms.
