DCC Tested Its Remote Back-Up Center
OREANDA-NEWS. April 17, 2008. Closed Joint - Stock Company Depository Clearing Company (hereinafter referred to as DCC) has finished operational test of its remote Back-up Center.
The remote Back-up Center was set up to ensure business continuity at DCC in case the main computer center cannot be operated due to force majeure.
The remote Back-up Center has a direct fiber-optic link with DCC's main office, which allows on-line backup of electronic documents.
The remote Back-up Center has hardware data replication established between the main and backup data storage systems. This minimizes the time period needed for switching to the Back-up Center avoiding data recovery from tapes.
The remote Back-up Center ensures completeness and safety of reserve copies of documents, their availability only to a narrow circle of accountable persons, which excludes access to the copies of unauthorized users.
Operational test of the remote Back-up Center included reconstruction of all operating procedures as of the end of a preceding business day. The test showed equality of figures obtained by DCC's main and back-up computer centers.
Test results are the main proof of high reliability of DCC's hardware and software complex.
In future similar tests will also be carried out on a regular basis.
