OREANDA-NEWS. On 14 July 2008 was announced, that the parking garages with the total capacity of 53,311 vehicles have been commissioned over the first half of 2008, Konstantin Korolevsky, first deputy head of Department of Urban Design Policy, Development and Reconstruction of Moscow, declared.

According to the official, 5,488 parking spaces have been commissioned in southeast Moscow, 8,000 – in the north, 9,838 – in the northeast, 5,200 – in the east, 2,397 – in the centre, 6,239 – in the southeast, 3,694 – in the southwest, 7,443 – in the west, 4,500 – in the northwest and 500 – in Zelenograd’s district of the Russian capital.

Mr Korolevsky reminded that in total 125,000 parking spaces were to be commissioned in 2008 and the work was going on in 6 main directions.

The first deputy head of Department of Urban Design Policy, Development and Reconstruction of Moscow explained that the complex development of the townships could be completed by the construction of multilevel municipal parking garages. “So, 160 garage objects with the total capacity of approximately 51,439 vehicles are to be commissioned within the complex development [in Moscow] during 2008-2010,” Mr Korolevsky emphasized.
