OREANDA-NEWS  On 02 October was announced, that RUSNANO delegation will visit Taiwan and South Korea between September 30 and October 8, 2008.

The visit will be Anatoly Chubais’ first international trip as Director General of the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO).

First of all the fact-finding trip is aimed at establishing contacts with political and business leaders of Taiwan and South Korea, and creating the conditions for potential practical interaction with these countries in the area of nanotechnologies.

Taiwan and South Korea are among the world’s leaders in nanotechnologies today. Therefore one of the main purposes of the delegation’s visit is the study of these countries’ experience in managing their innovation practices, which play a significant role in attracting private capital to the innovative businesses. For its part, the Corporation plans to introduce its Asian colleagues to its current activities, and also to inform them of the unparalleled range of incentives and support it offers private investors, including foreign ones.

RUSNANO delegation will spend six days in Taiwan between September 30th and October 5th. A number of meetings are planned in the course of this visit with representatives from the Taiwanese Ministries for Economics and Foreign Affairs. A round table on science, organized by Taiwan’s State Committee for Science, will take place on October 2nd state with the participation of specialists in nanotechnologies. RUSNANO delegation will also visit an open laboratory and the Centre of Nanotechnology in Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute.

On October 6th the RUSNANO delegation will arrive in Seoul, where it will visit the Association of Nano-technological Studies and the Korean Institute of Science and Technologies (KIST). The visit to South Korea will include a meeting with representatives from the Korean Fund for International Collaboration, Science and Technology, where potential mutually advantageous cooperation will be discussed. In the first instance, such cooperation could result in the realization of joint projects. The final part of the delegation’s visit will see Anatoly Chubais meeting with the South Korean Minister of Education, Science and Technologies.
