OREANDA-NEWS  On 06 October was announced, that till October 10, 2008, State Russian Museum together with the Confectionary Factory named after N.K. Krupskaya will hold a contest of essays “Life of one masterpiece” in the schools of Velikiy Novgorod, Vyborg, Kingisepp and Luga. Over 35 regional schools will take part in the contest.

Authors of the most interesting works will win entertaining trip to Saint-Petersburg for all the pupils of their class with the excursion to Russian Museum and to the factory of “sweet dreams” – Confectionary Factory named after N.K. Krupskaya. All the participants of the will be awarded with the Diplomas and sweet prises.

The basis for this contest was laid by many years of cooperation between Russian museum and one of the biggest confectionary enterprise in the country, that was uniting all the best cultural traditions of Russia.

During last years Russian museum and Confectionary factory named after N.K. Krupskaya held the whole complex of social events, aimed at the development of creative abilities and sense of taste in the young generation.

Main tasks of the new contest are – development of love to the beauty, creation of the striving for knowledge and self development. The contest increases motivation to study cultural heritage of the motherland and inspires young talants.

The launch of the new series of collection chocolate “Vernisazh” was dedicated to the 110-th anniversary of Russian Museum. They depict paintings of the magnificent Russian painter s, such as K.Brullov “Portrait of Shishmarevy sisters”, O.Kiprensky “Portrait of Davydov”, V.Servov “Portrait of Botkina”, B.Kustodiev “Portrait of Shaliapina”.

The contest participants will write essays about these paintings, trying to revive paited images. In the framework of this contest school pupils will sink into the creative work of one of the painter, will thing about the destiny of the picture, its importance for Russian cultural heritage.

Contest “Life of One Masterpiece” is oriented on the pupils of 8-10 form of secondary schools, lyceums, gymnasiums.

The chairman of the jury is the expert of Russian museum on Educational questions. The results of the contest will be underlined by competent jury and announced by October 24, 2008.

Teachers of the schools will get a perfect possibility to contribute the development of idea of protection and study of Russian cultural heritage as well as to the opening of new talents.
