OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2008. According to departmental State Statistical monitoring forms the reinsurance premium of OJSC Transsiberian Reinsurance Corporation for three quarters of 2008 made up 672.7mln rubles, total volume of reinsurance benefit for the same period amounted to 287.7mln rubles. 

During the last years there have been made no significant changes to the Transsiberian Re portfolio. Most of the incomings (82%) come from property reinsurance. The share of liability reinsurance amounts to 16%, reinsurance charges of personal insurance contracts makes up 1% of total charges.

Traditionally, portfolio of Transsiberian Re receives most of its incomings from abroad which underlines the international character of the company’s business. According to the results of three quarters of 2008, the amounts of reinsurance premium, received from non-residents (insurance companies and brokers) made up 51% of total charges.

According to preliminary data, for nine months of this year Transsiberian Re concluded 2 500 reinsurance contracts, which on the whole corresponds to the amount of contracts concluded during the same periods of the previous years.

Out of total volume of Transsiberian Re’s payments under the reinsurance contracts, concluded during 9 months of 2008, 96.7% falls to property reinsurance (278.2mln rubles). Payments of liability reinsurance indemnity amount to about 9.3mln rubles or 3.2% and those of reinsurance of personal insurance contracts make up 0.1% (0.2mln rubles).

For three quarters of the current year Transsiberian Re made payments of 847 insured events. For the same periods in 2007, 2006 and 2005 there were payments of 740, 947 and 856 insured events correspondingly. Out of total amount of payments for 9 months of 2008, 68.4% falls to payments to Russian companies and 31.6% - to foreign companies. Pay-out ratio, i.e. payments and incomings ratio for three quarters of 2008 amounts to 42.8%
