OREANDA-NEWS. December 22, 2008. In January-October 2008, Belarus traded with 179 countries. The country exported to 136 states and imported from 164.

In January-October 2008, Belarus’ major trading partners were Russia (47.8% of the total trade), the Netherlands (8.2%), Ukraine (7%), Germany (4.7%), Poland (4.1%), Latvia (3.3%), China (2.5%), Great Britain (2.4%), and also Brazil and Italy.

According to the Committee, in January-October 2008, Belarusian exports to Russia were up 30.5% to USD 9.405 billion and accounted for 32% of the total exports. Exports to the Netherlands increased by 46.8% to USD 4.9 billion (16.6% of the total amount). Exports to Ukraine were up 2.4 times to USD 2.615 billion (8.9%).

In January-October 2008, Belarus’ foreign trade in goods reached USD 63.613 billion, up 51.6% on the same period of 2007. Belarus’ exports rose by 52% to USD 29.433 billion, imports by 51.3% to USD 34.18 billion.
