OREANDA-NEWS  On 02 March was announced, that in 4Q of 2008, the level of unemployment in Moldova reached 3,9% vs. 5,4% at the same period of 2007.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics and methodology of the International Labor Office (ILO), the number of unemployed in Moldova amounted to about 48.3 thousand people, or 18,6 thousand less than in October-December 2007. The unemployment rate for men and women was 4.7% and 3.2%, respectively. In urban areas, the unemployment rate made 5,1% in rural areas - 2.8%, respectively. During the reporting period, the unemployment among men made 59,6% of the total number of unemployed. 63,7% of the unemployed are urban citizens. The unemployment rate among young (15-24 years) makes 10.3% and among the age group of 15-29 years-8%, respectively. Data do not include Transnistrian region.
