OREANDA-NEWS. On March 18, 2009 the Council of Entrepreneurs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, State Committee for Entrepreneurship and Regulatory Policy and State Customs Service of Ukraine held joint Public hearings into the issues of customs clearance of goods.

During the event, led by head of the State Customs Service of Ukraine (SCSU) A. Makarenko, entrepreneurs from all the regions of Ukraine communicated with heads of structure subdivisions of the SCSU, representatives of the Finance Ministry, Ministry of Health Protection, Ministry of Environment, State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

Realization of the procedures of customs clearance in Ukraine appears one of the most burdensome in Europe which entails losses of transit attractiveness of the state and competitiveness of national producers, influences groundless soaring of prices for all Ukrainian consumers.

The head of Council of Entrepreneurs within the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oxana Prodan called on all the attendants to finalize elaboration of a new Customs Card for the goods under the question and to take active role in the process of monitoring of information contained in the card. “Public hearings are not only the beginning of the triggered joint activity in the direction of creating proper conditions for the customs clearance procedure. Little by little we will settle these problems in synergy. We have not only strong desire but experience and support of the State Customs Service of Ukraine head,” Oxana Prodan said.

The participants of the hearings have come to a decision to solve urgent issues by permanent cooperation and activity of workgroups.
