OREANDA-NEWS. April 7, 2009. In 2008 Energoatom Concern OJSC attained 11.4% reduction in the amount of penalties because of failure to coordinate changes in the content of generating equipment with the system operator.

This achievement is the result of the effective work of the dispatching control groups of the Concern’s nuclear power plants, says the head of the Central Dispatching Control Departmet of Energoatom Concern Nikolay Markelov.

The effective work of the service ensured production of additional 3.107bln KWh in 2007 and 7.947bln KWh in 2008 (total – 11.055bln KWh).

The formation of the dispatching control groups was completed a year ago — on Apr 1 2008. The groups are parts of the production departments of the branches of Energoatom Concern – nuclear power plants. The key tasks of the groups are scheduling and revising the operating regimes of the plants on a daily basis and controlling their work real time.

Concerning the results of Jan-Mar 2009 Markelov said: “We have already managed to avoid penalties worth 11.7mln RUR during the post-maintenance testing at Novovoronezh and Smolensk NPPs.”

The additional electricity production during the period totaled 1.782bln KWh.
