OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2009. General Colonel Vladimir Pronin, Head of the Moscow division of the Internal Affairs Department (IAD), presented Mobile Squad Control System (MSCS) to Rashid Nurgaliev, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, and Yury Luzhkov, Moscow Mayor. The system is developed by M2M Telematica upon the request of the Moscow Government.

MSCS is intended for control of all IAD squads on different territorial and functional levels, militia patrols involved in united dislocation plans, as well as Perekhvat and Volcano operations.

Squad control center (SCC) uses MSCS data which has been in test operation since January 2009 in the North District of Moscow. SCC processes the information about law inforcement in Moscow.

All militia patrol cars are equipped with GLONASS hardware. This provided the duty officers with the opportunity to direct the car to the incindent location. The data from mobile squads are displayed in two screens. One of them shows operational maps of Moscow, the other one presents text information about accidents, location of the squads, etc. GLONASS-based equipment and MSCS software are developed by M2M Telematica.

Yury Luzhkov says that "this system has already proved its necessity. We, together with IAD, will introduce it as soon as possible..."
