OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 June 2009 was announced, that Doctor Web – the first anti-virus vendor that offered the anti-virus as a service on the Russian market – announced a successful deployment of Dr.Web AV-Desk 5.0 by Nord Telecom. Now the anti-virus service with all technological advantages of the Dr.Web 5.0 product line is available to customers of Nord Telecom as well as to any CIS user that has access to the Internet.

The deployment of Dr.Web AV-Desk 5.0 by the telecom operator in St. Petersburg makes the service available to subscribers of Nord Telecom as well as to other users in the CIS allowing them to protect their systems from viruses, Trojans, rootkits and spam.

Subscribers of other ISPs that don’t have the anti-virus service available on their service lists still can take advantage of the service. All they need to do is to go to the web-site of Nord Telelom, register and install provided anti-virus software.

Subscribers are offered three subscription packages. If a user needs to protect his system from viruses and spam, he may want to choose Dr.Web Standard while casual web-surfers that do not visit sites featuring objectionable content will most likely select Dr.Web Classic. And finally those who want to have all information channels of their computer protected will most probably decide on Dr.Web Premium.

“Our objective was to make the Dr.Web anti-virus service available to any user in the CIS. We all know that there are remote regions where people don’t have an opportunity to purchase software in a store simply because there is no store to go to. That’s why we give the opportunity to all users who now can install and use the top-quality anti-virus from Doctor Web”, Alexandra Potapova, the general director of Nord Telecom said.
