OREANDA-NEWS. On 19 June 2009 was announced, that the first section of the Northern belt road is to be commissioned in Moscow this year.

According to the prefecture of Moscow’s eastern administrative district, construction of the first section is to be completed in Kosino-Ukhtomsky township, its length will be roughly 10 kilometres. The multilane road starts at Kraskovskaya Street, goes northward of Kaskadnaya Street, crosses Novoukhtomskoe Highway and enters the MKAD highway encircling Moscow.

A huge three-level interchange has been already set under construction at the junction with the MKAD.

The first stage of its development is to be completed in late 2009 – early 2010. As a result, the dwellers of Kozhukhovo township will get one more exit road to the MKAD.

The second stage of construction of the Northern belt road provides for extending it from the MKAD through Veshnyaki township along Krasnogo Kazantsa Street to Anosova Street in Perovo township where it is to cross the fourth ring road.

This section is currently being designed.

Hereafter the Northern belt road is to cross Entuziastov Highway and enter Budyonnogo Avenue where it will go down into a deep tunnel which is to end near Rostokinsky Proezd. Then the road is to go in the direction of northeastern Moscow.
