OREANDA-NEWS. July 21, 2009. By Sept 1 2009 Chelyabinsk region will meet all of its obligations to resettle the residents of the village of Muslumovo (Kunashak district), which has suffered as a result of an accident at Mayak PA in 1957.

“The resettlement of Muslumovo will be completed by Sept 1 2009,” says the first vice governor of Chelyabinsk region Vladimir Dyatlov.

The newly built Novomuslumovo residential area already has a school, a kindergarten, roads and all necessary communications.

The swimming pool will be ready by Aug 1 2009.

Head of the Department for Contacts with Public Organizations and Regions of Rosatom State Nuclear Energy Corporation Igor Konyshev says that Rosatom will meet all of its obligations by the end of 2009. By that time the Corporation will have made contracts with all of the remaining 150 households.

On Nov 14 2006 the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy and the Government of Chelyabinsk region signed an agreement for joint financing of measures to solve the ecological problems of Techa Rive and the social problems of the village and station of Muslumovo.

The parties have agreed to resettle the residents of the village of Muslumovo and part of the population of the station of Muslumovo, Kunashak district, Chelyabinsk region: a total of 741 households (539 to be resettled at the expense of Rosatom, 148 – Chelyabinsk region).

Rosatom allocated 600mln RUR for the project in 2006, while the Government of Chelyabinsk region budgeted – 450ln RUR for 2007–2008.
