Nuclear Submarine “Yuriy Dolgorukiy” Came Back from Regular Tests
OREANDA-NEWS. On 18 August 2009 was announced, that the nuclear submarine weapon carrier “Yuriy Dolgorukiy” came back from the regular tests.
The crew under command of Captain Vladimir Shirin and fleet introduction team of Sevmash headed by Nikolay Semakov, the responsible person, have been testing ship systems at sea for some days. And as Vladimir Shirin reported to Rear Admiral Andrey Ryabukhin, the Commander of White Sea Navy Base, “the tasks have been performed successfully and after replenishment the ship is ready to be put to sea”.
In addition to crew and fleet introduction team the designers take an active part in the testing. During the first tests Vladimir Zdornov, the Director General of CDB ME “Rubin”, was present at the ship, this time – Aleksey Ishkov, the Deputy Chief Designer of CDB ME “Rubin”.
According to preliminary data the carrier shall be put to sea 5-6 times before it will be given to the Navy.
