OREANDA-NEWS. October 7, 2009. It is reported that Ukraine Ministry of Economy has announced that till the end of 2009 the tariffs for railway transportation for the domestic metallurgical companies will remain stable.

Mr Bohdan Danilishin Ukraine' minister of economy said "The memorandum on understanding with the country's mining and metallurgical companies has been prolonged until the end of the current year. Respectively, the tariffs for railway transportation for them will not be increased."

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in November 2008 the Ukrainian government and the country mining and metallurgical companies signed an MoU aimed at the minimization of the consequences of the economic crisis in the industry in particular at the stabilization of prices for ore, coal and steel products, the maintenance of jobs, salary levels and other social securities for employees and also the development of the Ukrainian domestic market. In August this year, the Ukrainian cabinet of ministers prolonged the MoU until the end of 2009.
