OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2009. AEA Technology, one of the world leading consultancies in the field of environmental protection, energy conservation and climate change, conducted an audit of OKKO-branded filling complexes, transport and petroleum depot facilities of Concern Galnaftogaz and published preliminary report.

The British experts defined areas, where energy consumption may be optimized and losses decreased, estimated measures, technologies and extra investments needed in order to reduce both electricity consumption and related expenses. The data on how energy and environmental matters can impact added value and reputation of OKKO brand, are also given in the document.

Among the specifics of Concern Galnaftogaz' energy consumption related expenses AEA Technology specialists noted the twenty-four-hour exploitation of the Company's filling complexes buildings and also large range of temperatures in Ukraine, which result in significant need in illumination, heating and cooling. At the same time, in the report author's opinion, new buildings of OKKO filling complexes are effectually designed and are ahead of most similar buildings in Ukraine from the perspective of engineering.

AEA Technology representatives recommend to hold a training course on energy conservation for the Company employees and make some architectonic changes in projects of filling complexes in order to achieve best results in energy consumption governance.

It should be reminded, that Concern Galnaftogaz has been passing financial audit regularly and environmental audit was conducted twice within cooperation with International Finance Corporation (IFC). Personnel audit was also conducted in the Company (by CATRO International Management Consulting).

It is worth emphasising that energy audit was conducted within cooperation of Concern Galnaftogaz with European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
