Belarus Improves Procedure of Import of Alcoholic Beverages
OREANDA-NEWS. December 03, 2009. President Alexander Lukashenko signed Ordinance No 12 “On Introducing Additions and Amendments to Ordinance No 3 of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 29 February 2008”, reported the Official website president.gov.by.
This document has been prepared in order to improve the procedure of import of alcoholic beverages and to bring the provisions of Presidential Ordinance No 3 “On Some Issues of State Regulation of Production, Turnover and Advertisement of Beer, Alcoholic Products and Tobacco Goods” in line with the provisions of the legal acts that were adopted after this Ordinance had entered into force and that relate to this field of business.
The Ordinance provides for granting additional powers to the interagency commission responsible for holding contests for identifying the legal entities authorised to exercise the state’s exclusive right to the import of alcoholic products (hereinafter, interagency commission). The additional powers will enable the commission to decide positively in case only one legal entity participates in the contest.
The provisions of Ordinance No 12 expand the possibilities of the interagency commission in arranging the import of alcoholic products and simultaneously preserve due state control over production and turnover of this type of products.
