OREANDA-NEWS. January 15, 2010. Users of the digital television Interactive GALA service provided by TEO LT, AB, the largest provider of integrated telecommunication, IT and TV services in Lithuania, will from now on have the opportunity to watch hundreds of films available on the Virtual Video-On-Demand for a monthly fee of 7 litas.
 
At present, the GALA Video-On-Demand contains almost half a thousand comedies, dramas, action and animation films, a few tens of documentaries, TV serials and concerts. Customers can still choose to watch them for a one-off fee – from 1 to 10 litas – per film, which can be watched within 24 hours from ordering it.
 
According to Nerijus Ivanauskas, Chief Marketing Officer of TEO, the interactive Video-On-Demand services, provided for two years, are used already by nearly half of Interactive GALA TV users. “We want to provide fans of the latest films with the opportunity to access all cinema news from Hollywood, Lithuania and other countries without being concerned about the size of the monthly bill”, - N. Ivanauskas said.
 
For users of the Virtual GALA Video-On-Demand, the selection of films is facilitated through detailed film descriptions and trailers. Also, it is possible to change the language of the film, to pause, stop or fast-forward it.
 
Digital television Interactive GALA services, provided to residential and business customers, are at present used by more than 50 thousand residents of Lithuania. Almost a third of them order additional channel packages, every third uses the Virtual Video-On-Demand service, and almost every fifth plays games on a TV screen. Interactive GALA TV customers also have the possibility to sing Karaoke with their friends or use, free of charge, the My TV Recordings (Mano TV бraрai) service, which allows watching favourite TV programs at desired times.
 
TEO also provides the Digital GALA TV service, broadcasted via digital terrestrial (DVB-T) networks. More than 40 thousand of the country’s residents have already become users of this service, which is provided in nearly the whole of Lithuania. They can watch almost 40 channels in Lithuanian, English, Russian and other languages.
