OREANDA-NEWS. February 10, 2010. The ceremony of putting a cotton spinning mill into operation that continued the parade of the building and industrial premiers to mark National Flag Day took place in the administrative centre of the northern region of the country – Dashoguz Velayat. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who had arrived in the region before leaving on an official visit for the United Arab Emirates, attended the ceremony.

In the morning the President’s plane landed at the airport in Dashoguz where the local high-ranking officials, the elders and mullahs heartily greeted the Turkmen leader with bread and salt and bouquets of flowers. The prayers for eternal welfare and prosperity of the Motherland and every success in all noble undertakings and deeds of the President for the happiness of the Turkmen people were offered up.

Heartily greeting all those present the national leader talked to the elders about the everyday concerns and life of the people of Dashoguz. During a sincere conversation the elders thanked Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for his unceasing concern for a happy life of the native people and the wellbeing of the Motherland.

The President of Turkmenistan congratulated the ceremony participants on the coming national holiday – National Flag Day emphasizing that this event – putting a cotton spinning mill into operation would go down into history of the epoch of new Revival as one of its brightest pages, an evidence of Turkmenistan’s resolute advance along the path of cohesion and unity, peace and progress.

In the airport building the President held a meeting with the cabinet ministers, the high-ranking officials of the Mejlis and the military and law enforcement agencies to review the issues relating to further development, modernization of industrial infrastructure and construction of important social and industrial facilities in of the northern region of the country.

Then the President drove to the industrial centre of Dashoguz where he attended the ceremony of opening the cotton spinning mill.

Local people greeted enthusiastically the Turkmen leader on the way from the airport to the newly built cotton spinning mill.

The cotton spinning mill amounted to USD 66.54 million is built in the southwest of the administrative centre of the region on the bank of the Shawat canal by the Cotam Enterprises LTD at the request of the Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan.

The cabinet ministers, the high-ranking officials of the Mejlis, the national ministries and departments, the public organisations – the members of the Galkynysh National Movement, the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, journalists, the elders and local workers heartily greeted the Turkmen leader in front of the administrative building.

The girls dressed in national costumes presented the bouquets of wonderful flowers to the Turkmen leader, the elders and mullahs offered up the inspired prayers for the wellbeing and prosperity of independent neutral Turkmenistan and the success of progressive reforms and changes launched throughout the country. Greeting the leader of the Turkmen state in Dashoguz, they wished Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov good health for many years ahead, happiness and new outstanding accomplishments in his tireless activity for the benefit of the people and Fatherland.

Then the President of Turkmenistan addressed the participants congratulating them on the remarkable event.

Addressing those present the Turkmen leader said that having entered a new stage of economic development Turkmenistan was turning into an active producer and exported of finished products. These positive changes were is considerably obvious in textile industry, which increased its percentage share in GDP. Abundant natural resources opened up the vast opportunities for intensive development of this sector of Turkmen economy. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that today Turkmenistan exported over 70 percent of textile products meeting international quality standards – cotton yarn, fabric, knitwear and ready-made garments to the United States of America, the Russian Federation, the European countries, China, Turkey and others.

Focusing on further intensification of the development of textile industry the Turkmen leader said that the development programme for the period till 2020 were aimed at increasing the volume of investments in this sector up to USD 2 billion a year, constructing large-scale processing plants in each cotton growing region of the country and taking other measures that would enable to create about 20,000 new jobs.

The horizons for fruitful cooperation with large investment companies were substantially expanded in this sector. In this regard the Turkmen leader underscored the significance of opening the service centres of the well-known companies Schlafhorst, Truetzschler, Uster and other foreign partners in Ashgabat to provide the textile enterprises in Turkmenistan with necessary equipment and spare parts. Equipment manufactured by the world’s leading producers was installed at the newly built cotton spinning mill in Dashoguz.

Each year the mill will produce over 16,600 tons of ginned cotton and produce 14,500 tons of high-quality Ring cotton yarn of different colours, which is in great demand on world markets. Its annual output will amount to US 24.7 million. Focusing on the importance of the mill for the intensive development of Dashoguz Velayat that was rich in the sacred places and famous for diligent labourers, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that large-scale construction of buildings and facilities had been launched to further enhance the economic potential and improve the social and living conditions in the northern region of our Motherland.

“The people of our independent country are happy and prosperous because they are engaged in creative, constructive labour. From our forefathers we inherited the wise saying “he who does not spare effort will be lavished on with goods”, the Turkmen leader said and noted that our filial duty was to be the worthy descendants of glorious ancestors and successors of their noble traditions.

In conclusion the President congratulated the ceremony participants and local workers and specialists on the remarkable event and wished Turkmen textile workers happiness and every success in their activity aimed at making the Motherland more beautiful, richer and stronger.

Then the cultural workers and artists of Dashoguz presented an inflammatory performance for the Turkmen leader and the ceremony participants on the square in front of the building. To the storm of applause of those present the President cut the ribbon and entered the industrial building.

A stand with the manufacturing schemes and plans describing the major characteristics of the cotton spinning mill and finished products was presented to the Turkmen leader.

Then the President made an excursion round the cotton spinning mill, visited the shops that processed ginned cotton and produced high-quality cotton yarn where he talked to local workers about their living and working conditions.

Putting the cotton spinning mill that creates 500 new jobs into operation in the region is an important step to pursue Turkmenistan’s strategy for increasing output and enhancing the potential of textile industry and bringing it up to the level of the largest textile producers in the world, expanding international cooperation in this sector, establishing highly profitable, environmentally friendly industries producing high-quality goods for consumers across the world.

Upon concluding the excursion round President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wrote an entry to the Book of Honorary Guests. Bidding farewell to the ceremony participants the Turkmen leader congratulated textile workers on the building premier and wished them successful work.

The Turkmen leader left the venue of the festivities for the Dashoguz airport, from where the plane took the President of Turkmenistan to the United Arab Emirates.
