OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2010. Duncan Pell, Commercial Director of Interpipe, recently took part as a speaker at the CRU 16th World Steel Conference held on March 23-25 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt. The conference analysed investment in the steel industry paying particular focus to long, flat, raw materials and end user markets.

Duncan Pell gave a presentation on the ‘OCTG and line pipe markets’, and in his presentation spoke about the key trends on the global pipe market, evaluating its size, the key market drivers as well as making forecasts. He outlined that industry players may feel the market recovery by 2011. Duncan Pell identified South America, North Africa and the Middle East amongst high growth regions.

Giving a comprehensive overview of the OCTG and line pipe market Duncan Pell said:

“The increase in the prices of oil and gas together with demand growth will lead to improved exploitation activities, the development of distribution infrastructure and new challenging exploration locations. All these factors will greatly influence OCTG and line pipe markets introducing higher requirements and specifications for suppliers. I believe Interpipe is able to meet these high standards delivering high quality products to its customers.”
