OREANDA-NEWS. April 06, 2010. The board of directors of Uralsvyazinform adopted a decision at a meeting today to prematurely terminate the powers of the company’s general director Anatoly Ufimkin and appointed Sergey Lukash to this position.

Anatoly Ufimkin was discharged prematurely from his position as the general director of Uralsvyazinform after voluntarily tendering his resignation.

Chairman of the board of directors and director general of Svyazinvest Evgeny Yurchenko expressed gratitude to Anatoly Ufimkin for his many years of diligent and honest work at the company. Anatoly Ufimkin has been offered to become the advisor to the general director of Svyazinvest for the Urals region.  “Mr. Ufimkin is a top professional in the telecom business, wise and responsible.  His knowledge and experience will definitely be required by Svyazinvest in the future, especially in light of the upcoming reorganization of the group of companies”, Evgeny Yurchenko pointed out.

Sergey Lukash was appointed with a 2-year term to the position of general director of Uralsvyazinform effective March 20, 2010. 

Mr. Lukash is a leading expert in the telecommunications business.  He has been concerned with a broad range of telecom issues at various companies and possesses vast and multi-faceted experience.  His expertise also extends to the Urals, legal and organizational aspects of operations at large regional telecom operators.  The main challenge facing Mr. Lukash at his new position is the integration of Uralsvyazinform in the emergent telecom company on the basis of Rostelecom”, Evgeny Yurchenko noted with regard to the new appointment.

Anatoly Yakovlevich Ufimkin was born on March 10, 1951 in the village of Kaisarovo, in the Tsilinsky district of the Ulyanovsk region.

Mr. Ufimkin graduated in 1973 from the Kuybishev Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications Institute (renamed as the Volga State Academy of Telecommunications and Data Processing). After graduating from institute he received a job assignment in Chelyabinsk, where he began his career as an engineer in Fotogazeta-2 workshop.  Mr. Ufimkin subsequently held the position of head of a telegraph, and chief engineer of the Chelyabinsk Regional Telecommunications Directorate. 

In 1993 he was named general director of Svyazinform of the Chelyabinsk region.

In 2002, after the seven regional telecoms in the Urals and part of Western Siberia were folded into Uralsvyazinform, Mr. Ufimkin was appointed as first deputy director of the company.

In January 2005 he was named head of Uralsvyazinform.  Mr. Ufimkin is a distinguished telecommunications worker of the Russian Federation. He was honored to receive an Order of Merit (2009) and was awarded a class II medal of the order “For Honorable Services to the Homeland” (2002).

He is also the recipient of a award by the Russian Orthodox Church – class III of the Order of Venerable Sergii Radonezhsky and the Order of Holy Blessed Moscow Prince Danil.

Sergey Alexeyevich Lukash was born on May 9, 1957 in the city of Rubotosvsk, Altai region.

In 1986 he graduated from the All-Union Correspondence Electrical Engineering Institute with a major in Telecommunications Engineering and Radio Broadcasting.

In 1997 he graduated from the Russian Academy of State Service under the President of the Russian Federation with a specialty in State and Municipal Management.  He holds a law degree.

1982-2001 – military service in the Russian Army.

2001-2003 – deputy chairman of the board of Gazprom.

2005 – first deputy general director of non-commercial organization National Scientific Fund.

2005-2006 – assistant RF Minister of Justice.

2006 – senior assistant RF Prosecutor General.

2008-2009 – acting general director of state unitary enterprise Svyaz-Security.

Since June 2009 – deputy director general of Svyazinvest.
