OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2010. A common machine-building consortium has been established in the Karaganda region. The organisation’s mains tasks include the provision of rural residents with local equipment such as sowing machines and harvesters. One of the projects also stipulates the creation of a small aviation fleet for the villagers.

Vladimir Boeger, chief engineer at machine-building consortium:

- Farmers should expand their business and provide us with proposals. In turn, we can do everything they want depending on our capacity which the consortium has.

In turn, this year alone, farmers are planning to implement around 20 promising projects in agriculture and cattle breeding. Alexander Schimpf grows and produces seed potatoes. Last year, he even built a special laboratory at his farm.

Alexander Schimpf, farm director:

- When every hour is precious in spring and autumn, many people buy expensive and reliable equipment. If our producers reach the same quality like imported goods, it will be beneficial for us.

Local industry employees are also going to launch another significant project – the assemblage of small planes “Farmer” which can be used for spraying chemicals over farm’s lands.
