OREANDA-NEWS. Pavel Tsybulsky Appointed Director General of Gazprom VNIIGAZ.

Pavel Tsybulsky was born in November 1957 in the city of Kazan. In 1980 he graduated from Gubkin Moscow Petrochemical and Gas Industry Institute, getting specialty in Technology and Comprehensive Mechanization of Oil and Gas Fields Development. Pavel Tsybulsky holds a PhD in Engineering.

Between 1983 and 1993 – senior research assistant at the gas fields development engineering and analysis division, VNIIGAZ.

Between 1993 and 2002 Pavel Tsybulsky worked as head of the laboratory for development of fields in northern Tyumen Oblast, subsequently, he was appointed head of the laboratory for Western Siberian gas fields development engineering and analysis at the Development Department, VNIIGAZ. Later on, Pavel Tsybulsky was deputy director general of the Natural Gas Fields Development Center and, in parallel, head of the laboratory for the Urengoy field development engineering and analysis at VNIIGAZ.

From 2002 to 2006 Pavel Tsybulsky simultaneously took the positions of deputy director general for research and head of the laboratory for the Urengoy field development engineering and analysis at VNIIGAZ.

Since 2006 he has been Director General of Podzemgazprom.

Roman Samsonov, the former Director General of Gazprom VNIIGAZ, has been relieved of his post due to a job transfer.


Background

Established in 1948, VNIIGAZ is Gazprom’s major R&D, technological, engineering and design center for the resource base development, gas and condensate production, transmission and comprehensive processing, as well as environmental and industrial safety promotion at the gas industry facilities.

In 2001 the Institute obtained the status of a research center. At present, Gazprom VNIIGAZ employs around 2,000 highly qualified experts (including 50 Doctorate degree and 264 PhD holders), houses the oldest postgraduate school of the gas industry and two thesis councils.
