OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2010. As it was informed in the National Bureau of Statistics, in January-April this year, food prices grew by 7,1%, non-food- by 4,2% and the prices for services rendered to population- by 6,3%, respectively.

The prices for the foodstuffs grew by 0,1% and for non –food- by 0,5%. Tariffs for services increased by 0,2%. The largest price increase among the foodstuffs in April was registered for: sugar - 1,8%, fresh vegetables - by 1.2% (including cabbage - 8,8% and onion - 1,7%), sunflower oil - 1,1%, beer - 2,0%, chocolate and chocolate products - 2,6%.

At the same time, the prices have decreased for: mushrooms - by 10,5%, dietary eggs - 9,6%, potatoes - 4,3%, grapes -1,1% and fresh fruits - 0,8%. Among the non-food items the prices have grown for: oil - 3,0%, tobacco products - by 2,8%, medicines and utensils - by 1,2%. Among the services provided to population, the largest increase was registered for: theater tickets - 8,8%, movie tickets - 2,8%, public transport - 4,0%, kindergartens and nurseries services- 1,8%.

In April, the price decline was observed for the passenger air transportations - by 2,3%, as well as for travel services abroad - by 2,0%. As it was informed before, the Moldovan government expects that in 2010 the inflation will make about 5%.
