OREANDA-NEWS. June 10, 2010. OJSC Enel OGK-5 continues to perform the maintenance campaign and technical updating program for its power plants aimed at preparing all the equipment for the 2010-2011 autumn-winter period. Within the framework of the program, the maintenance activities will be performed at 30 power units (6 of which will undergo major overhaul and refurbishment, 8 – medium maintenance and 16 – current maintenance).

The schedule for maintenance works at the Company’s power plants is coordinated with the Operational Dispatching Unit (ODU) of Central and South Russia and the Urals.

In November 2010 the State commission will carry out a survey to evaluate the results of this maintenance campaign and will also check if the Company’s power plants are ready for the autumn-winter period.

The technical upgrading program is aimed at increasing the equipment service life, enhancing reliability and efficiency of electricity and heat generation as well as reducing the environmental impact.

According to the 2010 program the technical upgrading will be done for 5 units with the total installed capacity of 1327 MW, and will include the following activities:

     Konakovskaya GRES

Technical upgrade of unit 8 with a capacity increase of 30 MW and efficiency enhancement

Sredneuralskaya GRES

Reconstruction of unit 10 with replacement of HP regulating valves of the turbine and upgrade of the boiler setting

Nevinnomysskaya GRES  

Reconstruction of unit 8 with implementation of DCS system – automatic system of management of the technological processes.

Reftinskaya GRES

Reconstruction of unit 1 with prolongation of the turbine residual life by 50 thousand hours, replacement of the conversion zone of both boiler drums and increase of efficiency of the electric filters

Reconstruction of unit 3 with prolongation of the turbine useful life by 50 thousand hours, reconstruction of the electric filters and replacement of:

-         tube bundle of the turbine condenser

-         ash hopper of both boiler drums 

During the updating of the chimney stack #2 the following works will be done:

-         medium maintenance of units #2 and #4

-         maintenance of electric filters of unit #4 with increase of efficiency

Reconstruction of 300 MW unit #5 will include the following major works:

-         Replacement of the turbine with an upgraded one with increase of capacity up to 325-330 MW

-         Replacement of the turbine generator TGV-300

-         Upgrading of the boiler unit with replacement of the main heating surfaces and burners in order to decrease NOx emissions, remove slugging of the furnace and increase its reliability.

-         Replacement of the fume exhausters to improve efficiency

Replacement of  electric filters with the bag-hose filters with decrease of the residual dust by 30-50 times.
