OREANDA-NEWS. August 18, 2010.  SOCAR and American MI-LLC Company signed a contract for the preparation of a feasibility study for the establishment of SOCAR centre for waste management system. The Contract envisages choosing appropriate technologies for processing of waste formed as a result of activity of SOCAR enterprises and institutions, specifying the present waste recycling spheres in the country and defining the cooperation opportunities with them, and other issues. In this connection, SOCAR representatives met with MI-LLC Company officials at SOCAR Head Office.

The event was attended by SOCAR Vice-president Mr. Soltan Aliyev, Ecology Department representatives, and MI-LLC Company representatives headed by Company’s Vice-president Mr. Sven Maikranz. The meeting covered the issues regarding the project to be approved by US TIA Organization, current status of the project and works implemented up to date.

Since the signature of the contract MI LLC specialists got acquainted with the sources of waste and their conditions of keeping at N.Narimanov OPGD, Absheronneft OPGD, Bibiheybat OPGD, H.Z.Taghiyev OPGD, J.Amirov OPGD, Balakhanineft OPGD of “Azneft” PU, Transportation Department, Baku Deep Water Jacket Plant, Caspian Sea Oil Fleet, ”Azerneftyagh” Oil Refinery, and other structures of SOCAR. Within the project, MI-LLC staff got familiarized with certain normative documents and permissible level of emissions, and present condition of centre for waste management system. They also held discussions on operation perspectives of the center. In general, the parties agreed to meet regularly and discuss the forthcoming operations on implementation of the project.
