ANRCETI and ANCOM to Sign Memorandum on Cooperation
OREANDA-NEWS. August 19, 2010. This was announced at the meeting of Director of National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) Sergiu Sitnic with President of National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications of Romania (ANCOM) Marius Catalin Marinescu, making his first working visit to ANRCETI on the occasion of 10-years Anniversary of Moldavian regulator.
The sides have discussed the draft Memorandum, the main directions, as well as areas and instruments of collaboration. The main object of Moldavian-Romanian Memorandum is in promotion of information exchange on legislative base, applied in the field of electronic communications and postal services, as well as exchange of experience in this field. The draft Memorandum stipulates holding of seminars, conferences and forums, organization of consultations and joint expertises, participation in profile events of both countries, including working shops, seminars, and working visits.
Sergiu Sitnic noted Moldova was interested in the practice of Romanian colleagues in the field of regulation of electronic communications market, particularly, market analysis, implementations of numbers portability, regulation of tariffs and expenditures registration systems, protection of final users and resolve of disputes between providers. Marius Catalin Marinescu noted Romania was ready to share with Moldavian colleagues its experience in solving of the given problems, and to help in implementation of other regulation practices in the field of electronic communications.
Sergiu Sitnic and Marius Catalin Marinescu expressed their confidence that the partnership of regulators of both countries would favor the increase of efficiency of their activity, aimed at promotion of competition in the field of electronic communications and interests of final users, in the best traditions of European and international practices.
ANCOM was established in 2002 as a state structure under the Government of Romania, and in March, 2009 it passed under the Parliament as an autonomous authority. ANCOM is the only administrator of conducted policies in the field of electronic communications, post and information technologies of Romania. Since 2004 ANCOM is a member of the Independent Regulators Group (IRG), and since January 2010 – member of the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC).
