OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2010. The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov during his visit to Japan, met with senior management of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan.

During the negotiations, Boris Kolesnikov and leadership of the Ministry considered the opening of regular flights Kyiv-Tokyo. The first step in opening the direct air traffic between Ukraine and Japan will introduce a number of charter and regular flights Kyiv-Tokyo, which will be performed by one of Ukrainian airlines.

Meanwhile Boris Kolesnikov supposed that in a year and a half there would be opportunities for regular flight.

During the negotiations with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan the necessity to increase significantly the flow of Japanese tourists to Ukraine was pointed out. According to official information, during the past year, only 7.5 thousand Japanese had visited Ukraine. The Japanese side informed that its citizens are interested in opening new tourist routes to Ukraine, which has a large touristic attraction.
