OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2010. According to the press service of Moldovagaz, this is due to the fact that Termocom and HES-2 are using gas in volumes significantly exceeding the contracted ones by internal reasons.

Thus, Termocom contracted 2 million cubic meters of gas for October, and as of October 24 the real volume of gas consumption amounted to 3,13 million cubic meters or exceeded by 1,13 million cubic meters the monthly plan of gas consumption and by 2 times the volume of consumption fixed for the date indicated, i.e. as of October 24 the volumes shouldn’t exceed 1,55 million cubic meters.

The same situation is on HES-2: 16,5 million cubic meters were contracted for October, 19,6 million cubic meters consumed as of October 24 or by 50% more than volumes of gas consumption fixed for the date indicated (12,8 million cubic meters). If gas excess continues it may result in default on obligations to the external suppliers, disruption of transit gas supply to the Balkans, threatening with grave consequences.

Moldovagaz called on the enterprises of Moldova’s FEC to consume gas pursuant to the contract volumes. If Gazprom satisfies the request for increase of gas supply volume, the FEC enterprises will get the gas in full volume, though, according to the company, there are no serious reasons for this. Besides, in conditions of relatively warm weather, Moldovagaz considers the demands of Termocom on increase of gas supply volume to be groundless.

Moldovagaz believes that it’s not the comfort of municipality citizens that Termocom is concerned about, but the desire to sell heating as much as possible to gain additional income.
