OREANDA-NEWS. November 22, 2010. IES-Holding has chosen a contractor for designing five new power units with total capacity of 1240MW within the implementation of investment program. Under results of competitive procurement procedure held through IES electronic trade site B2b, the right to conclude a contract on development of design documentation was given to “Group E4” OJSC and “Teploelectroproekt” Institute.

E4 will design a combined cycle plant for Vladimirskaya CHPP-2 (project “Lazurite”), 230MW CCP for Izhevsk CHPP-1 (project “Zircon”), and 230MW CCP for Novo-Bogoslovskaya CHPP (Project “Emerald”). The last two projects will be implemented in the territories of operation of “IES” “Generation of Urals” Division in Udmurt Republic and Sverdlovsk Region.

“Teploelectroproekt” Institute will develop design and work documentation for 220MW CCP construction at one more heat and power plant of “Generation of Urals” Division – Kirovskaya CHPP-3 (Project “Topaz”), and 330MW CCP for Novogorkovskaya CHPP (Project “Ruby”).

The total cost of these investment projects is 47 billion Rubles. It is planned to start the construction in 2013-2014.

Generating capacities development is one of the priorities of IES. The Company intends to put new power units into operation and modernize the existing power plants using state-of-the-art and energy-efficient technologies and equipment in order to save the leading positions in electric and heat energy production in Russia, as well as to ensure high competitiveness of its power plants on the energy market. The Holding’s investment program proposes the input of 3 Gigawatt of electric capacity by 2017.
