OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2010. KAMAZ became a winner of the contest for implementation of the “Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Tatarstan in 2006-2010” program in 2010.

A commemorative sign and an honorary diploma of the laureate of the contest were given by Ildar Khalikov, Prime Minister of the RT, to Islamgarey Shigapov, Deputy Director General – Technical Director of OJSC KAMAZ. It happened at the meeting of the RT Government devoted to the issues of implementation of the named program and tasks for realization of a long-term target program “Energy Conservation and Improvement of Energy Efficiency in the Republic of Tatarstan for 2011-2015 and for a Long Term till 2020”. The managers and specialists of KAMAZ also visited the 12th specialized exhibition “Energy. Resource-Saving 2010” which took place in Kazan and participated in the 11th International Symposium “Energy Efficiency and Conservation”.

The energy efficiency program for the period till 2020 had been developed at KAMAZ even before the economic crisis which struck Russia in 2008. Measures it provided for should have generated an economic effect of over 1.6 billion roubles under those conditions. But the recession forced to revise it in order to save more costs, energy and resources. To date, the program is being updated with account taken of increasing production volumes, provisions of the Program of Strategic Development of OJSC KAMAZ till 2012 with stated goals till 2018, and prognoses for development of the country’s automobile industry.
