OREANDA-NEWS. December 16, 2010. JSC SITRONICS (LSE:SITR), the leading supplier of solutions in the field of telecommunications, information technologies and microelectronics in Russia and CIS, informs that its subsidiary LLC SITRONICS Smart Technologies (SST), the leading Russian manufacturer of smart cards and system solutions for telecommunications and financial industry, social security and medical insurance, signed the contract with JSC VimpelCom for delivery of 1 million SIM-cards with 64 kilobyte memory size.

The contract was signed following the results of SST winning the tender announced by JSC VimpelCom. The duration of the project is 1 year. First deliveries of SIM-cards have already started.

From this moment on, LLC SITRONICS Smart Technologies (SST) becomes the smart card supplier for all the Big Three operators. According to JSC SITRONICS own estimates, the total volume of SIM-cards sold on the Russian market in 2010 should amount to approximately 149 million pieces versus 100 million a year earlier.

Currently, SIM-cards with 64K memory size is the most high-volume and required product among mobile service operators.
