OREANDA-NEWS. January 21, 2011. KAMAZ participates in an exhibition of Tatarstan’s industrial enterprises which opened today on the territory of JSC “Kazan Helicopters”.

The exhibition is organized by Tatarstan’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Economy, and Ministry of Energy with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. KAMAZ will show its achievements and innovative developments of 2010 and will say about its plans for 2011.

OJSC KAMAZ is the only Russian automobile company which managed to cope with the global economic recession. And KAMAZ produces trucks and buses for the country participating in various state programs. Thus, for instance, the company’s share in the state order for the Ministry of Defence was about 15% in 2010. KAMAZ received a laureate diploma of the “Company of the Year” national award at the contest organized by RBC Group in the nomination “Machine Building” for effective measures under crisis conditions.

In all, KAMAZ Group sold products and rendered services for 64.6 billion roubles in 2010. 32,293 trucks were sold. Against 2009, the growth is 26.6% and 24.7%, respectively. 28,254 trucks were sold on the Russian market, and 4,039 units were realized abroad.

In 2010, the company launched production of Euro 3, 4, 5 engines at CUMMINS KAMA Russian-American Joint Venture. Production of the main details of these engines was completely localized. Federal Mogul Naberezhnye Chelny JV started producing cylinders and pistons.

OJSC KAMAZ mastered production of bottle-gas driven vehicles and buses running on compressed natural gas. These ecofriendly vehicles are made with the use of the latest technologies.

KAMAZ’s current model range of gas vehicles complies with Euro 4 regulations of UNECE. Vehicles running on natural gas have less noisy engines and lowered exhaust smoking. It is important for big cities with environmental problems where 20-30% of Russia’s population lives.

OJSC KAMAZ is currently working on Euro 5 certification of a new family of gas engines.
