OREANDA-NEWS. February 22, 2011. The International Forum was organised by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation and the “Navigator for Business” network with support of the Confederation of the Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The Forum was attended by representatives of   Russia’s regional chambers of commerce and industry, administrations of Russia’s regions, Norwegian-Russian Chamber of Commerce, Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Moscow Representative Office of Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), national associations of entrepreneurs, as local IT companies. The Forum was live-watched via Internet in 54 Russia’s regions and in 22 countries.

The Forum was moderated by Mr. Andrew Bykov, Chairman of the Board of “Navigator for Business” network. The participants were welcomed by Mr. Georgy Petrov, RF CCI Vice-President. He pointed out to the positive efforts made by the “Navigator for Business” network and devoted to formation of consolidated informational space in Russia. Mr. Petrov also mentioned that this Forum was a big step forward in RF CCI and CACCI cooperation.

Mr. Jack Cheng, Director of the TAITRA Moscow Representative Office, also welcomed the participants and pointed out to the importance of such events for cooperation development between Russia and Taiwan.

Following these welcome remarks Dr. Su-Houn Vandy Liu, professor, Department of Information Management of Taiwan Chung-Yuan Christian University, delivered the welcome address by Dr. Webster Kiang, General Director of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI).

Mr. Reiner Hartmann, Chairman of the Executive Board, Association of European Business in Russia, reflected on the results of the “Navigator for Business” network activity and emphasized the significance of the Digital Bridge between Europe and Asia for further progress in the global economic cooperation between the continents.

After that the floor was given to Dr. Su-Houn Vandy Liu, whose presentation was devoted to “E-Business Transformation. The Taiwan experiment”. He described the innovative and “ideological” ways of doing business in e-commerce field using the examples of success stories of the Taiwanese companies.

Then Mr. Andrew Bykov informed the participants of signing the Agreement on Cooperation between the “Navigator for Business” network and the EC21 Network that is operating was the Republic of Korea. EC21 is the global B2B electronic trading platform with representative offices in 9 countries, now including Russia. Mr. Andrew Bykov said that the Agreement will create global opportunities for Russian member companies of “Navigator for Business”. He stressed that the business network would help its members to place their offers and demands through the EC21, which member-base is over 1,000,000 companies in 200 countries.         

In conclusion, Mr. Sergey Vasiliev, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the RF CCI, praised the progress made by “Navigator for Business” network and expressed hope that its activity would improve the competitive capability of Russia’s companies and help promote their products and services on internal and external markets.
