OREANDA-NEWS. March 18, 2011. Transstroy has signed a 1.25 billion ruble contract with SIBUR-Portenergo for the construction of the LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and light-oil product transshipment complex in the Ust-Luga harbor.

This is Transstroy's third successive contract for the construction of the largest installation in the aquatic area of the Ust-Luga harbor - and in Russia overall. The new export terminal will become the largest LPG transshipment complex in Russia. The construction site - and, subsequently, the complex itself - will cover an area of approximately 140 hectares of the bay coast. What will set the complex apart from other installations will be the unique option of isothermal storage for LPG. And Transstroy is the company that has been entrusted with the implementation of this important project.

The construction consists of three stages, of which Transstroy is already conducting the first two. The sum total of Transstroy's contracts on this project amounts to 4.75 billion rubles. The cost of the overall construction of the complex is estimated at 9.5 billion rubles.

The signing of this latest contract with SIBUR-Portenergo is in point of fact the acknowledgement of Transstroy as a reliable partner in the execution of the project. Transstroy has, in turn, adhered to all of its contractual obligations. The construction site is in operation round-the-clock and the company has employed all of its major construction resources in the northwest region.

The scheduled date for commencing operations - end of 2012.

Under the terms of this latest contract, Transstroy is to erect water work structures for the complex: a 692 meter offshore pier, 2 docks and technological platforms. Structurally, the offshore pier consists of a pile foundation, a superstructure (cast reinforced concrete) and decking (metal) mounted on pier supports.

The total amount of piles to be submerged for this construction - 650. Total pile tonnage - 7.5 thousand tons. The piles are to be submerged from the water, with the use of floatation devices. 9.5 thousand cubic meters of cast reinforced concrete is to be used in the construction of the overwater structures.

Transstroy's previous contracts on the complex have had it conduct the engineering works for building site preparation, the construction of a shill dam for the waterworks area and a railway line, as well as the construction of a segment of the tank battery with a system of pipelines and engineering lines, two railway and highway overpasses, a repair shop and administrative building. Region-Transstroy is conducting the work in strict accordance with the operational schedule.

The contractual work is being carried out by Region-Transstroy, part of the Transstroy holding company.
