OREANDA-NEWS. April 4, 2011. General Director of JSC “Airport Tolmachevo” Alexander Borodin took part in the business forum “Marketing of success: Strategy, Marketing, Promotion”, which took place in Novosibirsk, 18th of March.

Alexander Borodin noticed: “Some years ago the participation in the big international forums was intended to attract new carriers and increase awareness of professionals and industry partners about airport`s profitable specifics. At the moment the participation in the forums and the conferences is mainly becoming the platform for rendering the experience of international hub`s development to the professional association.

In 2004 a new strategy of airport Tolmachevo intending to create a large modern transit hub was developed.

The strategy was approved by the Minister of Transport of RF Igor Levitin and this predetermined dynamic development of the airport. Nowadays Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) as the sixth largest airport in Russia, and the third among the airports of Asian part in Russia by volume of passenger carriages. According to the operative date, since 2004 the passenger flow at the airport Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo) has increased in more than 1,5 times and in 2010 reached the record quantity- 2,263 million passengers.

In the 2010 a special program was developed at the airport Tolmachevo to attract Russian and foreign cargo airlines to make technical stops. This program intends to attract foreign cargo airlines such as ULS Cargo, Cargolux, UPS, Cargoitalia, FedEx, Great Wall Airlines.

Certain positive results have already been achieved today. Since March 2010 aircompany Air China Cargo had been operating charter flights, which since 31th October became regular ones. European company Air Cargo Germany started operating regular flights with technical stops at the airport Tolmachevo since 2th February. Many aircompanies have significantly extended their presence at the airport Tolmachevo: Hainan Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Nordwind Airlines, CSA Czech Airlines, Polet Airlines, Air China Cargo, Air Cargo Germany, UTair, "Ural airlines ", "Orenburg airlines", "Tomsk Avia", "Angara " etc.
