OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2011. Freight One is hauling 125,000 metric tons of coal from Kuzbass deposits in Kemerevo Region and the East-Bey mine in Khakassia in March to help restore power to earthquake-affected prefectures of Japan.

A total of 40,000 metric tons of coal have been dispatched from Terentevskaya and Yerunakovo stations in Kuzbass to ports in the Far East of Russia. The first batch of coal weighing 25,000 metric tons was sent to the Far East from Khakassia. Another 60,000 metric tons of the fuel are to be dispatched by the end of the month. The deliveries are mostly made to Vanino-Export stations, where the coal is then loaded onto specialized ships.

The deliveries are ahead of schedule. An additional 7500 metric tons of coal were dispatched in just the first 22 days of March from the East-Bey mine. A total of 55—57 Freight One cars on average are dispatched every day from the mine to Japan.
