OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2011. Korean Air President Chi Chang-hoon held negotiations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan on 10 October 2011.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said that the sides considered current state and perspectives of bilateral relations with the airline. The sides noted stable relations of Uzbekistan Havo Yollari and Korean Air, which is based on agreement on creation of logistic hub at Navoi International Airport.

The sides underlined that important element of success of transcontinental intermodal hub at the Navoi International Airport, which is managed by Korean Air from 1 January 2009, is close location of Navoi free industrial and economic zone.

Currently, over 80 flights a week carried out through Navoi Airport to such cities as Seoul, Milan, Brussels, Zaragoza, Frankfurt, Bangkok, Delhi, Mumbai, Dacca, Istanbul. It is planned to open flights to Hanoi, Riga and Shanghai. From June 2009 to July 2011, over 1,831 flights were conducted and over 90,000 tonnes of cargoes transported.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on perspectives of developing cooperation between two sides.
