OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2011. Particularly, in August this year, industrial output increased by 19.4 percent compared toAugust last year, the National Statistics Bureau reports. The industrial output growth in January-August 2011 was determined by the increase in the mining industry – by 16.7 percent and in manufacturing – by 12 percent.

At the same time, production and distribution of electricity and heat decreased by 3.5% from a year earlier. Production of foodstuffs and beverages during this period climbed 2.7 percent in Moldova. Particularly, production, processing and canning of meat increased 11 percent, beverages production – 4.9 percent, dairy products – 1.8 percent.

A considerable growth in January-August this year was reported by enterprises producing machines and equipment – 39.4 percent, textile production – 16.3, paper and cardboard – 14.5%, tobacco products – 12.6%. At the same time, production of of vegetable and animal oils in January-August 2011 reduced by 8.7 percent,– 5.7%, canned vegetables and fruit – 3.6%, furniture – 3.6%, goods made of plastic – 3.5%, electric power – 3.1%, metallurgic production – 1.6%.
