OREANDA-NEWS. December 26, 2011. MMC Norilsk Nickel (MMC Norilsk Nickel or the Company) announces that the Company will from now on reimburse annual expenses for there-and-back vacation travelling and transport of luggage to its employees and their family members. A corresponding order was signed by the General Director of MMC Norilsk Nickel, Vladimir Strzhalkovsky.

By introducing annual vacation pay, the Company, in fact undertakes enhanced social commitments (in accordance with the current Collective Agreement, the Company reimburses travelling expenses once in every two years). Given the remoteness and severe climate conditions in which the employees of the Company’s enterprises operate, this measure is an important part of the social package provided by the Company to its employees. 

Vladimir Strzhalkovsky, General Director of MMC Norilsk Nickel said: “We are interested in maintaining social stability in the regions of our operations and that is why we pay such attention to developing and upgrading our social programs, one of which will be the right to annual reimbursement of vacation travelling. It is particularly important for our employees and their families in Norilsk Industrial Region – it is known that the only fast way of travelling “to the continent” is by air”.

In accordance with the approved document, beginning with January 1, 2012 over 100 thousand employees of MMC Norilsk Nickel and members of their families will be eligible for reimbursement. The Company’s expenses for the purpose of reimbursement will be over RUB 2.5 billion. Those regulations cover the enterprises of MMC Norilsk Nickel located in Russia’s Far North.
