OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2012. Reinforcement of the foundation mattress of power unit 1 reactor’s building has started at Baltic NPP. The works are being performed by JSC TITANSTROYMONTAZH, the subsidiary of TITAN-2 Holding.

1,500 tons of reinforcement will be laid in the course of work. 4,500 m3 of concrete will be necessary for the foundation mattress concreting.

Currently, six organizations of TITAN-2 Holding are working at the Baltic NPP’s construction site: CONCERN TITAN-2 , JSC,  OJSC UAT, SC TITANSTROYMONTAZH, MSU-90, JSC, OJSC SOSNOVOBORELEKTROMONTAZH, TITANVENTEKH, CJSC. The total number of workers is 450. 328 of them are the residents of  the Kaliningrad Region. About 130 units of technical equipment being the part of the holding’s own train of machines are used at the construction site.

From the very beginning of construction which started in 2010, TITAN -2 holding is one of the main contractors in construction of Baltic NPP. In 2011, the holding’s organizations finished the Baltic NPP territory preparation for construction. The temporary and permanent roads were cut, utility networks were laid, the grading works were performed, power unit 1 excavation site with the drain system was completed, as well as the concrete ground level foundations for the key NPP buildings and facilities. Besides that, the 12-km-railrway spur “Neman – Baltic NPP construction site is under construction.
