OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2012. The Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO has established Zimin chair for entrepreneurial leadership. Partner support of exactly that theme is extremely important for the school as entrepreneurial leadership is one of the cornerstone priorities of SKOLKOVO educational programmes.

The Moscow School of management SKOLKOVO and Zimin Family Trust established by Dmitry Zimin, Founder and Honoured president of Vimpelkom, in February 2012 signed a deal on creation and financing of Zimin chair for entrepreneurial leadership. Within the frames of agreement the chair will be named after Dmitry Zimin and financed by Zimin Family Trust for three years.

The chair for entrepreneurial leadership will be headed by Professor of professional practice Lawrence Wright. He has been cooperating with the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO since spring 2011 as he was appointed the Start-up Projects Director. At that position he is responsible for development of one of the MBA programme’s key components dedicated to entrepreneurship. His tasks comprise creation of strong portfolio of promising projects, development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and support of new student start-up projects. Apart from that Prof. Wright regularly organizes and runs Entrepreneurs’ Club meetings where students get to know successful businessmen and business-angels.

Establishment of the chair for entrepreneurial leadership will give a chance to strengthen the SKOLKOVO MBA and executive MBA educational programmes and open opportunities for development of Executive Education integrated corporate programmes. The entrepreneurial leadership topic plays a significant role in those programmes.

“We’d like to thank Mr. Zimin for long-term partnership and sponsorship of the new chair. Starting from the moment of the SKOLKOVO business-school creation our core aim was to bring up new leaders with entrepreneurial bug, to prepare new successful businessmen who will be able to discover “blue oceans” of opportunities and to develop new directions in business. The new chair will help us to implement our ideas”, stated Andrei Volkov, Dean of the SKOLKOVO business-school.
