OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2012. KAMAZ organized a meeting to discuss preliminary results of the first trial assembly of Euro 4 vehicles carried out by the experimental and industrial department of KAMAZ’s Scientific and Development Center.

Now, the production unit of the company plans to manufacture a batch of Euro 4 vehicles at the facilities of the automobile plant to execute the next year’s orders. In the nearest future, experts will put forward their proposals concerning planning the site, organizing jobs and employing specialists. Besides, they has already started perfecting a logistics network and organizing delivery of components. So, KAMAZ is ready for serial production of vehicles complying with Euro 4 emission standards.

Engines of this level are assembled at the joint venture of KAMAZ and the U.S. Company Cummins Inc. – CUMMINS KAMA located in Naberezhnye Chelny. Engines complying with Euro 3 emission standards and serially produced on the banks of the Kama River since 2007 were initially developed to meet the environmental requirements up to Euro 6. Euro 4 and Euro 3 engines don’t differ much. Due to the centralized delivery of all components to all enterprises of Cummins Inc, as well as the well-coordinated work of the logistics center of the enterprise itself, delivery of new components didn’t cause any difficulties.

Last August, after some preliminary works, CUMMINS KAMA assembled pre-production models of engines meeting the requirements of Euro 4 emission standards. A month later these engines were certified for conformity to Euro 4. Then KAMAZ successfully assembled vehicles equipped with such engines, systems of neutralization of exhaust gases, and certified them.
