OREANDA-NEWS. July 10, 2012. Belarus has raised by 6.7% maximum retail prices of white sugar available in bags ranging in weight from half a kilo to 25 kg to the point of Br8,000 by the kilo (USD 0.96), starting July 2, 2012.

The selling price of white sugar available in 25-50 kilo packaging shall be Br7,500 by the kilo (USD 0.9).

Sugar prices were last raised on March 14, when a 7.1% hike fetched the price to the point of Br7,500 per kilogram.

The move was intended to narrow the disparity in sugar prices with the neighbouring states.
