OREANDA-NEWS. August 21, 2012. China steel consumption rose by 1.1 percent to 390 million tons in the first seven months of 2012.

In July, domestic steel consumption was 57.77 million tons, down 4.4 percent from a year earlier.

The daily consumption that month stood at 1.86 million tons, next to the year high of 1.87 million tons seen in April.

As of the end of July, the inventory of the five steel products amounted to 15.38 million tons, up 9 percent from a year earlier.
