Belarusian Average Wage Increased 4.6% on Month in July 2012
OREANDA-NEWS. September 7, 2012. Belarus’ average wage in nominal terms reached 3,925,900 Belarusian rubles (Br) in July 2012, or USD 471.6 at the monthly average rate of the National Bank (Br8,325.37/USD 1), up 4.6% month-on-month, an official with the National Statistics Committee told reporters.
In real terms [adjusted for the increase in the consumer prices], the average monthly wage went up 3.3% on the month. In January-July 2012, the average wage grew 10.5% on the year.
Regionally, the highest average salary is in Minsk Region - Br4.962 million (up 3.2% on month), while the lowest average salary reported from Brest Region - Br3.429 million (up 5.7%)
In manufacturing industries, monthly wages averaged out at 4.362 million rubles, in construction 4.664 million rubles, in transport and telecoms 4.511 million rubles, in agriculture 3.093 million rubles.
The average salary in the healthcare sector (qualified therapists, surgeons) stands at 5.290.2 million rubles, secondary education – 3.200 million rubles, higher education – 4.352 million.
The highest average salary in Belarus’ industries in July 2012 was Br8.274 million (production of oil and nuclear materials), Br6.668 million (production of chemicals), Br5.281 million (metallurgy).
