OREANDA-NEWS. October 17, 2012. BM&FBOVESPA will take part in the 52nd General Assembly and Annual Meeting of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), which will take place October 14-19 in Taipei, Taiwan. The Brazilian Exchange will be present at “Panel 2 – Special Session: ESG” on October 16, when for the first time environmental, social and corporate governance questions will be discussed in an exclusive session dedicated to these matters.

The discussion at the Annual Meeting of the WFE follows off from the agreement signed during Rio+20 in June. On that occasion, BM&FBOVESPA, NASDAQ OMX, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) and Egyptian Exchange (EGX) committed to promoting responsible long-term investment and the publication of information related to the companies listed on these markets. The signatories raised the subject with the Board of the World Federation of Exchanges, which has included it in this year’s discussion.

During the 52nd General Assembly and Annual Meeting of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), CEOs and executives from the world’s main exchanges, as well as market professionals, will meet and debate themes such as financial market trends, good derivatives, mergers and acquisitions of exchanges, regulation, and an overview of the Asian market.
