OREANDA-NEWS. November 13, 2012. TNK-BP informs that TNK Avia (a TNK-BP Group company) increased in-wing jet fuel sales to reach 858 thousand tons over the first nine months of 2012, which is 91% more than in the same period of the previous year, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

Thus, direct sales to air carriers accounted for 74% of the total jet fuel sales in the domestic market.

The considerable increase is attributed, among other things, to the expansion of the Company cooperation with major air carriers. In particular, sales to Aeroflot increased 1.5 times in 2012 and are expected to exceed 650 thousand tons by the year end. Besides, in January 2012, TNK-BP commenced in-wing fuelling in the Vnukovo airport.

TNK Avia is consistent in creating a system of strategic commercial partnerships with air carriers and fuel filling companies, which will eventually result in the most extensive network coverage in Russia.

"Today, TNK-BP's share in the domestic jet fuel market is about 20%; and in the Moscow air transportation cluster – the biggest in Russia – it exceeds 30%. TNK Avia considers creation of an extensive network of fuelling complexes one of its strategic goals. This will allow to reduce the price risk for the consumers and will serve as a foundation for the establishment of a comprehensive jet fuel quality control system," says Yuri Minyailo, head of TNK Avia.
